The Creative Cities Network is a gateway to the world

The Creative Cities Network is a UNESCO project that opens a call for application every 2 years with the main goal which is to promote creative industries and foster international cooperation. But did you know that joining this network is not only for making a city more well-known but it also has many benefits, such as:

1. Distributing income and creating a creative economic cycle
2. Showcasing our valuable intellectual heritage to the world
3. Opening opportunities for learning exchange or bringing new and creative strategies from creative cities members for diminishing city’s pain points 
4. Inspiring and instilling pride in the new generation to continue and build upon local wisdom
5. Attracting tourists from network cities worldwide

เครือข่ายเมืองสร้างสรรค์คือประตูสู่โลกกว้าง
เครือข่ายเมืองสร้างสรรค์ (Creative Cities Network) เป็นโครงการของยูเนสโกที่เปิดรับสมัครทุก 2 ปี โดยมีเป้าหมายหลักในการส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมสร้างสรรค์และสร้างความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติ แต่รู้ไหมว่า การได้เข้าร่วมเครือข่ายนี้ไม่ใช่แค่ทำให้เมืองเป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้นเท่านั้น มันยังมีประโยชน์มากมาย เช่น:

1. กระจายรายได้และสร้างวงจรเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์
2. เผยแพร่มรดกภูมิปัญญาอันล้ำค่าของเราสู่สายตาชาวโลก 
3. เปิดโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ นำความรู้จากเมืองสร้างสรรค์อื่น ๆ มาใช้ในการแก้ปัญหาหรือพัฒนาเมืองด้วยวิธีการใหม่ ๆ

Why Nan?
People might wonder why it has to be Nan? Nan is not just a small city in the North, but a treasure trove of culture, history, and local wisdom waiting to be enhanced with modern technology. This is the strength that gives Nan the opportunity to step onto the world stage.

However, getting there is not easy. It requires cooperation from all sectors - government, private, and community. Today, we'll introduce you to one of the key forces driving this dream: the Sustainability and Community Development Office of Nan Province, part of the Charoen Pokphand Group.

แต่การจะไปถึงจุดนั้นได้ ไม่ใช่เรื่องง่าย ต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือจากทุกภาคส่วน ทั้งภาครัฐ เอกชน และชุมชน ซึ่งวันนี้เราจะพาคุณไปรู้จักกับหนึ่งในพลังสำคัญที่ช่วยขับเคลื่อนความฝันนี้ นั่นคือ สำนักงานด้านความยั่งยืนและพัฒนาชุมชน จ.น่าน ของเครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์

The Power of Collaboration: Key to Success
Mr. Bancha Chotkamjorn, Director of the Office, proudly says, "We don't work alone, but as a center of cooperation from all sectors, from farmers to government agencies to educational institutions, to sustainably improve the quality of life of Nan communities."

And their efforts have not been in vain. Look at their past successes:

Over 1,000 farmers received career promotion, creating economic value of over 250,000 baht
Assisted over 24,000 vulnerable individuals in both disaster relief and education
Organized numerous creative activities, from exhibitions to training, with over 8,000 participants

คุณบัญชา โชติกำจร ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานฯ เล่าให้ฟังด้วยความภาคภูมิใจว่า "เราไม่ได้ทำงานเพียงลำพัง แต่เป็นศูนย์รวมของความร่วมมือจากทุกภาคส่วน ตั้งแต่เกษตรกร หน่วยงานรัฐ ไปจนถึงสถาบันการศึกษา เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของชุมชนน่านอย่างยั่งยืน"

Nan Creative Space: A Space for Unlimited
Creative Sharing But most interestingly is their role in helping push "Nan" towards the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. They have collaborated to organize "Nan Creative Space" with two important highlights:

Organizing creative courses such as:
"Inheriting Traditions, Weaving Connections" developing local handicraft products
"Village Names to Graphic Design" seminar
"Young Guide" project creating young guides for sustainable tourism
Opening a creative space for everyone to participate in Nan Creative Space activities
Mr. Bancha excitedly says, "Nan Creative Space is not just an ordinary space, but like a playground of ideas where everyone can unleash their imagination and share creative ideas freely."

This is just the beginning. The Office is ready to continue creating new things to develop Nan's community, environment, and economy in a balanced way.

Mr. Bancha concludes, "We believe Nan has enough potential to step onto the world stage. But the most important thing is the participation of everyone in the community. That is because the power of cooperation will get us to our destination faster and more sustainable."
