"Nyok Mlabri" or rattan bags are a symbol of the Mlabri people, woven from "Ta Paed" or rattan vines found in the deep forest, using ancient wisdom. The strong, durable vines are a constant companion in the Mlabri's nomadic journeys in search of forest products.

As time passes and lifestyles change, "Nyok" remains an integral part of Mlabri life. Nong Aum, or Kanita Sri Chawpa, a young Mlabri woman, shares her deep connection with "Nyok" from a young age. She learned to cut vines, honed her skills from village elders, and mastered natural dyeing techniques using leaves, ultimately creating exquisite "Nyok" bags

Su, or Suree Mlabri Villager, another Mlabri youth passionate about this specialized craft, leads online marketing efforts, creating new, beautiful, and modern "Nyok" designs while preserving the tribe's unique identity. Nyok, the primary material in Mlabri bag weaving, has received the Thai Geographical Indication (GI) seal, guaranteeing its unique origin from Nan province.

The leader of the Mlabri Phu Fah community, Mrs. Aranya Chaw Panaprai, recounts the beginnings of the women's group producing "Nyok" for additional income, attracting the interest of young Mlabri generations eager to participate in preserving and continuing their ancestors' wisdom.

"ญอก" ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงแค่ถุงย่าม แต่เป็นเสมือนสายใยที่เชื่อมโยงคนทุกวัยในชุมชน สร้างความภาคภูมิใจในความเป็นชนเผ่ามละบริ และเป็นแหล่งรายได้ที่สำคัญของชุมชน
